Feather Frock

Not only am I swooning over the mangled feather pattern on this dress, the leather details add a subtle, yet trendy statement. The colors on the dress are warm and can complement any complexion or hair color, which makes this a simple dress to wear. Add accessories or keep it simple with tights and booties.

Twill Thrill

Twill is such an easy pattern to pull off. The design is so small, that it can easily be paired, mixed and matched with other colors or prints. I'm going with a deep red and white stripe cotton tee with a faux leather elbow-patch. The October outfit is classic and subtle.

Unabashedly Bright

Lilly Pulitzer is almost a southern staple, but you don't have to be a college sorority girl to pull off the cheery prints. My love hate relationship for Lilly continues as I gravitate towards to vibrant colors but shun some of the loud florals that hung in my closet in the year 2000. This simple cotton dress boasts color, but the busy pattern consists of swirls, dots and even a lion if you look closely. I'm a fan of the Palm Beach inspired island attire on this toasty humid day!

A Geo Thing

Geometric prints are back for spring and I couldn't be more giddy! It never fails for my line of vision to divert directly to a print or pattern. Hence falling in love with this fun (almost party-like) abstract skirt. The skirt speaks for itself with it's flare and subtle pleats, so I kept with the navy theme and nude complement.

Basic Black

I have to admit, I'm yearning to trade my wool blends for linen in lieu of spring. Until the sun decides to make an appearance, I'm sticking to the basic black sweater dress and boots. Unable to resist color, I wrap up in a patterned scarf.

Falling for Booties

What I'm currently finding irresistible for fall? The bootie! I'm loving the dress and bootie  winning combo for early fall's temps. Dress them up or down by pairing with a vibrantly colored dress or with your favorite jeans for weekend. I also look forward to making a statement in them with wax denim to give my fall style a little edge.

Fall Function

Labor Day officially leaves behind summer, but that doesn't mean afternoon heat doesn't take over. As we transition, I try to stick to light weight fabrics, and a color combination that includes both fall and warmer colors as well. As much as I'm ready to slip on a leather jacket, it's just not practical for September in NC! I'm keeping it nice, light with a splash of color in this DVF jersey dress.
