Sayonara 2012

As we bid farewell to 2012, we look forward to fashion favorites that 2013 will bring! (I do anyway!) Not always a turtleneck fan, I couldn't resist the eye-catching color and the distinctive cut and relaxed feel of the the snugly sweater. I'm mad about my fresh wedge booties that are making their blog debut. Happy New Year!

Wonderful Time of the Year

I hope everyone had a holly jolly Christmas! I certainly feel jolly after a long weekend of home cooked meals! Maybe that's why I'm drawn to this baggy dolman top. This high-low top falls casually, but the gold thread boasts some holiday spirit! The comfort of a legging has me forever faithful, but add zippers and they become swoon-worthy in my book.

Sassy Suede

Nothing is more comfy than a great pair of leggings; but why stick to your basic black when you can wear suede leggings? Thanks to a wind advisory (that explains my crazy hair!), I  needed my peacoat! I love the combination of black and brown together! The winter white coat brings in all the neutrals beautifully and the suede teal wedge breaks it up a bit!

Beyond the Pencil Skirt

I'm counting down the days until Christmas by window shopping downtown and enjoying the festive displays! I like the slightly different take on the classic pencil skirt dress with the use of muted color pallets and the daring cut-out back. A black shoe goes a long way during the winter months, but I'm enjoying the cranberry colored wedge as opposed to my trusty black pump.

Touch of Luxe

As the holidays grow near, I'm more inclined to amp things up a bit! Today I'm in a brilliant metallic top and a black lace skirt. The top is not only work-worthy, but a Christmas party goer's dream! Instead of your basic peacoat, I think the cape is a more unique way to stay cozy. To complete the look, I went with suede green flats for a touch of color and festive accent.

Eggplant

This pret-a-porter frock is not only practical, but I appreciate that it can also be snazzed up! The deep eggplant color is flattering on a majority of skin tones and is easy to pair with black or gold! (Hues all women have possess) The detailing on the sleeves is minimal, but is slightly raised to create the illusion of definition. Though you can't see the back of the dress, there is an exposed zipper that adds yet another element of style.

Animal Instincts

Feeling slightly preppy today, I went with a more structured look. I've always been a fan of elephants  so they are hard for me to resist when on a shopping rampage! I love navy, but it can be difficult to pair with denim because of the color contrast, so I like to mix it in with different tints. To finish it off, I slipped on my glitter smoking slipper. Nothing like the power of a little glitz!

Wrap Up

This has been a go-to fashion favorite for me. The DVF wrap dress is practical but the pattern adds some zest! It is wearable from work straight to happy hour. I also adore the colors as they vivid for fall.  As you know, my black wedge boot has also been a staple and I love the look a textured tights creates.

Welcome Mini MAC

I'd like to welcome the Mini MAC to my wardrobe. I'm aware of my tardiness, but I finally bit the bullet and caved for one. The wool pencil skirt is an alternative to the over-worn black pencil and as always I wanted to throw print in.

Bright Idea

My neon tweed jacket offers a shot of color against darker winter-like garments. The vivid hue amps up an otherwise lackluster work outfit. Though the colors of my top are simple, the tailored kimono sleeve adds edge. Walking around in the suede, pointed, open back pumps gives me a slight fifth avenue feel and when I laid eyes on them, I swooned over the adorably structured bows!

#Thankful

If I had to write all of the things I'm thankful for on this blog, you would be reading for days! This is a photo of my stylish sisters and I on Thanksgiving morning!

Cardi Fun

For an unfussy look, I combined a classic cardigan in a fun color over a printed blouse. To amp up the attire, I used a studded olive hue skinny belt. I heart these jeans because of the flare that gives the slight illusion of a trouser pant, but in denim! Happy Black Friday!

That's A Wrap

A cashmere wrap is ideal for a windy day and the Burberry check makes it even more desirable! (I totally found this wrap at a Burberry outlet...such a steal!) The versatility of the wrap is amazing because it can be tied or draped in so many different ways to change your look. Not only cozy, but a flattering fit and a great alternative to your everyday pullover sweater or cardigan. I layered this over a black lace top and paired it with hot pink cords to add some sass!
