Safari Scarf

Today's casual look combines a khaki (yes, two outfits involving khaki in a row!) skirt with your standard stripe top. Mixing prints is a fashion favorite and adding a light weight scarf with wild safari elements amps up a basic look. Feeling the urge for color, I'm prancing around in green suede flats.

Summery Citrus

Why not add some zest to your summer wardrobe with a playful citrus printed skirt? I love the summery feel and bright pop the lemons bring to the outfit. The navy top is a subtle color combo, but the possibilities or options are endless. (stripes, a bold colored tank...)

Plum Crazy

I find myself stuck in a rut and channeling deep hues during this polar vortex (well, for NC standards). To add attitude, I enlist the help of my geo-print overcoat over plum and keeping cozy with a faux fur infinity scarf.

Fancy in Fur

I consider fur timeless and elegant. There's something about it that makes you feel fancy. (and warm!) The pullover style of this faux fur piece is casual enough for every day, or upscale for date night. The ponte legging adds edge with zips on the back on the ankle as do the studs on the pointed patent flat.

Zebra Crossing

A wrap dress is a wardrobe staple and I adore anything with a busy print! This wrap embodies classic color that is essential for fall and winter. The mix of olive, brown and black make for a wear-with-anything outfit! The use of a dramatic kimono sleeve is flirty and fun, yet sophisticated enough for work. So far, this is a top purchase of the season. Today, paired with boots, but could easily be dressed up for evening with pumps. Add sparkle for holiday with a sequin gold clutch and a blinged cocktail ring!

Primary Colors

Today it's back to basics by combining primary colors. The tweed top has metallic thread woven into it for a touch of shine and the tie on the back adds a chic element. The black walkable wedge can easily take you from work to play as a transition piece.

Carpe Diem

Today I play and mix different styles with a relaxed light-weight sweater over top of a printed skirt. (Not to mention, I love the inspiration) I love the way the burnt color brings out the foliage on the skirt. Finishing the look with a nude pointed flat and studded neutral bag.

Stripe Swoon

Graphic designs have been huge this season and stripes have taken precedence in the fashion world. Though they  never really go out of fashion, stripes are reinvented by designers almost every season. The notable trend has me hooked. Nothing is easier than a cotton striped dress!

Practical Reinvented

The corporate scene doesn't have to mean drab pant suits and lackluster attire. Today at work I channel the sunshine and boast bright yellow trousers contrasted with a charming, but fashion-forward exaggerated peplum top in black. The peplum is dramatic and trendy (notice the exposed back zipper) yet suitable for a business environment.

#Thankful

If I had to write all of the things I'm thankful for on this blog, you would be reading for days! This is a photo of my stylish sisters and I on Thanksgiving morning!

Rainy Days

Yesterday in Raleigh was beyond dreary and nothing is worse than cold rain soaking through your flats, so I opt for rain boots! I paired them with a ponte pant (a comfortable alternative to a legging that is considered work appropriate) and in an attempt to look more professional than casual, did the blouse and cardigan combo. As always, my eye darted straight to the beading on the bottom of the sweater. The black rain jacket is basic, but I love the high collar with a hood.
