Cobalt

I feel so elegant in cobalt for some reason. The color is rich and the modified wrap dress has become universal. The asymmetrical necklace and draped sleeve on one side adds a twist to the otherwise basic wrap or sheath dress. Brown strappy wedges subdue the outfit for a functional look.

Just Add Sun

Warm weather brings sweet summertime back into existence and more of my weekends are spent sea-side. This light-weight breezy cover-up reminds me of resort-wear at its finest. The rainbow of brights beside crystal blue water put me directly on island time. Accessories include a small muted gold shimmer clutch and a basic, natural sandal.

Color block

Color blocking is easy to assimilate into your wardrobe. Today I chose primary colors and added a favorite Moon & Lola piece. Color blocking is smart styling; simple to throw together, yet eye catching! Though I agree you could put a bold shoe with the outfit, I played it safe with a nude wedge and bag.

Beach Chic

The feel of this carefree high-low dress is weightless and playful! I die over the exotic print and cutout back. Perfect for a beach to street look, which is exactly what I did! With the vaca feel of the dress, I thought an ankle strap gladiator sandals would be perfection. With a backdrop this beautiful, I can stand the wind-blown tresses.

Black & White

It's back to basics with classic black and white! There's something about these neutral colors that make you feel ultimately posh. The look is minimalist, yet crisp and elegant. I love the way the top is cinched at the waist with the accordion pleating that almost creates whimsical movement. I had to cheat a little and throw in the hot pink wallet, while combing downtown for an afternoon coffee fix!

Behind the Racks - Anna & Alice

Entering Anna & Alice, I'm pleasantly overwhelmed by the glamorous chandelier, array of color and every girl's dream of denim, denim and more denim. Behind the counter (which is dripping with gems), works the stunning (but totally relatable) owner, Carri Lawson. Carri exudes an edgy, but relaxed vibe. I had the pleasure of candidly talking to the owner of one of North Raleigh's go-to boutiques.

Located in the upscale shopping center that boasts unique European design, Anna & Alice opened in August of 2010. Don't let the lack of tenure fool you, the one of a kind brands, amazing denim selection, and accessory options all make Anna & Alice a success! With Carri as the owner, you ponder where Anna & Alice came from. The sole boutique owner, previously opened the store with another partner from where they derived their storefront name. Anna & Alice are their middle names.

There truly is something for everyone from a stylish cocktail dress, skinny jeans, or a comfy cotton tee. Carri finds her denim lines to be exceptionally appealing to customers. Her lines cover all figures. Hudson is the classic line, the stretch and fit of DL1961 are highly coveted and Rag & Bone denim are the trendy jeans showing up on the pages of all of our favorite fashion magazines. When it comes to Carri, she's most comfortable in colored skinny jeans, a v-neck tee and fresh wedges. And she knows what works for her as she looks radiant while casually sharing all of her fashion-do's with me! As the exclusive buyer for the store, she sees it all; but is committed to a few of her favorite brands including Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent, Chanel, and Mara Hoffman (to name a few). Though casual chic is her go-to, she recognizes the importance of a great investment piece. Favorites in her closet include her timeless Louis Vuitton and Gucci bags. To finish off any ensemble, her go-to is a pair of diamond earrings.

Later, we played in the racks of clothing, both choosing our outfits of choice! I like to call it the outfit of the moment! Take a peek at some of our favorites and make sure to stop by to visit Carri and play a little dress up!

Soft Hues

Spring brings a softer color palette that makes me want to kick up my heels. I find the combination of ruffles and the sheerness of  tulle on the back absolutely scrumptious! The colored denim is almost a sorbet color (who doesn't love sorbet?) and the cream top can easily transition from a working lunch to happy hour!

Lovely Lace

Pretty does it; and you can't help but feel pretty in delicate lace. Playing with texture, I combined the lace with a high-waisted pattern skirt while window shopping in front of Moon & Lola. Lastly, I streamlined the look with studded black patent flats for a little glam edge. Celebrate the start to your weekend and support shopping local at First Friday this evening!
