Hail the Shirttail

It's officially fall and I'm looking forward to tailgates, layers and afternoon coffee drinks. The arrival of crisp air brings leather paneled leggings and a shirttail sweater. (these are everywhere!) Finished off with a tiered gold necklace and a classic black pump.

Regal in Red

Red isn't always my first choice in hues, but something attracted me to this vibrant shade. The brightness is infectious and exudes a regal tone. Paired (again) with a thick heeled leopard pump and topped off with a multi-strand gold necklace and a bold lip, I'm ready to conquer the work week!

Black on Black

Sometimes you have to embrace the beauty, simplicity and upscale appeal of black. As a color fiend, this is rare for me, but today I'm giving in on a rainy, October morning. The slight drama of the peplum in addition to leopard pumps give it just enough to standout from your every day black on black ensemble.

Flashy Fringe

When I think of fringe;  playful and party come to mind. Not to mention it embraces this summer's Great Gatsby's 1920's glitz theme. Amplifying the texture even more is the layering of lace. Today's version is somewhat dressed down, but could totally steal the spotlight by adding a sequin tank and a glass of champagne! (always add champagne) Though I have embraced the ensemble as black and white, color could easily be added with a bold clutch or bag,  an edgy pump or simply a coral lip!

Embroidered Jacquard

Today, I officially welcomed spring into my life! Basking in the warmth, I embraced texture with embroidery, and jacquard. I can't avert my eyes from the hot pink and thought the exposed zipper was just the right finishing touch. The black empire waist breaks up the dress and gives the illusion of a tulip shape in the skirt. The black also makes accessorizing a cinch! (everyone owns something black!)

Olive

On dismal winter days, it's a challenge to think past the go-to black work pant. In an attempt not to get fussy as I prep for another work day, I pulled out my olive work pant; complete with zippers and leather trim! I throw on a printed blouse and finish the look with leg lengthening jewel tone calf hair pumps!

Welcome Mini MAC

I'd like to welcome the Mini MAC to my wardrobe. I'm aware of my tardiness, but I finally bit the bullet and caved for one. The wool pencil skirt is an alternative to the over-worn black pencil and as always I wanted to throw print in.

THE Black Pant

For all you ladies searching for the perfect black work pant...I have hit gold! (and they aren't expensive, link below) These are my favorite pair of black pants and I love the fit! I snagged this top at a J.Crew warehouse sale this weekend in Asheville. I'm always looking for a little sparkle, so the metallic thread woven into the top does it for me!
